The Sorcerer's Apprentice is a symphonic poem composed by Paul Dukas in 1897. While it is based on a poem by Goethe, the piece is best known for its appearance in Disney's Fantasia (1940) and Fantasia 2000. This challenging arrangement features seven trumpets, including two doubling on piccolo trumpet and one doubling on flugelhorn, and incorporates many different mutes (straight, lyric/fiber, cup, harmon).
